Constitution as a Living Document: An Analysis
Keywords:
Constitution, Fundamental Rights, Amendment, Reservation for womenAbstract
Constitution serves as the foundational legal and moral frameworks that govern nations, providing a blueprint for governance and the protection of fundamental rights. The Indian Constitution is often called a living Constitution due to its ability to be amended or modified in response to the evolving requirements of time and society. There has been adequate diversity of interpretations in the actual operation of the Constitution. The Constitution is a tool that communities develop for their own use. Despite the fact that numerous such revisions have previously occurred, the Constitution has remained intact and its fundamental premises have not altered. The judiciary has played a vital role in upholding the Constitution as well as interpreting it. The Constitution is a dynamic document that adapts and adjusts to evolving times and circumstances.
